I recently spent far too many hours on the phone with my wireless phone company trying to get them to correct an error they had been making on my wireless bill for the last 1+ year. After speaking with at least 5 different supervisors over the course of a month i was told that while they admit to the error, I’m at fault for “not telling them about it soon enough” and so they’re only going to credit me back half of the amount owed to me. At which point I said “Fair enough, I’ll be taking legal action to collect the remaining amount owed and oh yeah, I’m a blogger and intend to write and tweet about this experience extensively.” 30 seconds and more annoying hold music later I was refunded the entire amount. Power to the people. Get a blog or twitter account today.

You see them every day, everywhere. On the street, on a bus, at a coffee shop hunkered over a mobile phone typing something. I often wonder about the hybrid space their mind is in. Partially immersed in the digital stimulus on the device (twitter, email, im etc) and partly “with us” in our physical space and shared reality at the moment. Where is that in between place their mind hovers in? Are we connected in that space? We’re a generation spending a disturbing amount of time in between.
